Global Positioning System (GPS)
Where am I now?
September 2007
A GPS is now a common part of the 4WDriver's kit of tools. Their basic function is to give your current location - of itself, information of little value but combined with a map and/or the coordinates of where you want to go, it can become a very useful navigational aid. As with all tools in 4WDriving, do not become completely dependant on it - you must have an alternative method of navigation in case it fails.
What do you need to know about them and how they work?
