Holland Track Code of Ethics
Please keep it clean – take your rubbish out with you
Please restrict convoys to no more than 10 vehicles to conserve camping areas and the track generally.
Remember that pets are not allowed in Reserves and that baiting occurs along the Track to protect our native fauna.
Please avoid periods after heavy rain when there is a huge risk of bogging and track damage.
Recommended that trailers are NOT taken along the Holland Track.
Nature is at work - please stay on the track and slow down to enjoy the scenery as rushing degrades the track and is dangerous for oncoming traffic.
Watch out for low-lying areas, which can be boggy after rain.
As you travel down the Holland Track, be aware of overhanging branches, tree roots and sudden drops caused by erosion of the track.
Only walking (no vehicles) in the often very wet and environmentally sensitive areas near the large granite rocks.
Water is precious - don’t pollute.
Please stick to established camping areas and respect fire bans.
Please collect firewood conservatively or preferably use gas fires.
Preserve our heritage – please camp 100m from rocks.
Practice good toilet habits – bury it deep and burn the paper.
Your safety is our concern but your responsibility.
